SPEAKER EVENTS

These are live events with an audience usually held in New Brighton. They include both in-person and online Speakers. The live audience require free tickets, additional people are able to join the event online.

These events gather together 4-5 speakers, to talk on a common subject, usually short, 15 mins each. Then after refreshments, the speakers form a panel to respond to audience questions.

We usually run this type of event in winter.

We are planning one or two speaker events in July-September this year.

To book (free) tickets for our upcoming Speaker event, click the Current Speaker Event button below.

The 31 July event will address what is happening in this space locally (i.e. Canterbury). We will see different approaches with how Councils are engaging with communitites, and what sort of adaptation outcomes they might lead to.

This event is the first of three in 2025/26. The theme of the other two events will continue that of the first event, but maybe thinking more about how communities can be proactive if facilitating local change.
